Bass Player | Keyboard/synth programmer/player

The Sanction are looking for two new band members;

1. Bass

The Sanction are looking for a new bass player to complete their line up following the departure of Alan Engel. There will be opportunities to contribute to writing and arrangements for new sets and CDs. We are not a covers band but welcome applications from musicians who have played in these bands and grow increasingly frustrated by the lack of creativity they afford. Basically, we're in it for the love of it, but aspire to more than churning out the same old mush. We are in NO WAY an indie band; we're a heavy rock band, but with a focus on developing our sound in the future, so technology might feature in the future.

You should have a good standard of playing, passion for the instrument (not a 'I'll play bass but I really want to play something else' attitude). You must also have a good personality and be polite . Lower age limit of 21, male or female - it doesn't matter. No higher age limit. Image doesn't matter. We/I don't care if you're built like a brick outhouse and have a green beard, if you have commitment, focus, your own gear and transport, can play and have a non-arrogant attitude we want to hear from you. Super-bass amazing musicianship we can do without - doing what is required for the song in question to work is more important than trickery or flashy playing.

We will be doing formal auditions which will involve teaching you a song and seeing how things go. They're not hugely complicated songs and you shouldn't worry if you don't completely 'nail it' in the audition; it's more important 'how' we rehearse together as opposed to 'what' we rehearse together. We will be taking our time in making sure we have the right man or woman for the job.

Must have own gear and transport and be relatively local to Harlow.

2. Keyboard/Synth Player/Programmer

The Sanction are looking for a keyboardist/synth player/programmer

We're not really after someone who is an amazing piano player - it's not really needed. Equally, we're not after someone who will perform endless synth solos like 70's prog rock bands. We're after someone who understands synth technology, can create their own sounds and is able to program sounds and sequences and has a competent playing ability. If you think about some of the synth work used by the band Disturbed for example, you'd be half way there. Also, some Pink Floyd moments wouldn't be miles away either and nor would Porcupine Tree. Must have own gear and transport and be relatively local to Harlow.
